The film centers around 3 martial arts brothers (Fu Sheng, Chi Kuan Chun & Leung Kar Yan) who looks to defend their homeland versus Japanese, German & Russian invaders. They join up with the Boxers Sect, the anti-imperialist society who believed that they were invulnerable to both swords & bullets.
In 1975 Hong Kong's Shaw Brothers studio produced the film Boxer Rebellion ( Chinese : 八國聯軍 ; pinyin : bāguó liánjūn ; Wade-Giles : Pa kuo lien chun ; literally: "Eight-Nation Allied Army") under director Chang Cheh with one of the highest budgets to tell a sweeping story of disillusionment and revenge.
